Tear Jerker If you go along with the idea of Girl from the right side of the tracks meets Boy from wrong side, Aka Romeo and Juliet, than you can get through this long set-up to the crushing ending. James Garner was why I wanted to see this film and he is so excellant telling this story from a notebook to his alzheimer wife as they live their last days in an oldage home. Its no surprise as to who he is talking about from the books pages. It is done with nice touches of humanity. But the scene when his wife screams so insanely that the orderly staff has to come in to restrain her, yelling at him saying: I dont know you, after their loving moments together, breaks Garners charater into deep and disturbing crying. It was very very tough to watch, so be warned. I have never seen Garner like that in all the over 40 years of his films. Production quality is high and makes for a more authentic visual experience. Families with Alzheimer should NOT watch this film. By Vince (Tampa)
