Search Tips
	How do I search ... by Title? by Price? by Percent off MSRP? Limiting searches to specific stores How shipping destination affects search results	For more advanced searches such as combining multiple search criteria and/or filtering by additional criteria, use the Power Search option.


Searching By Title
To find a specific DVD title or all DVD titles containing one or more keywords, select "Title Keywords" as the search type and enter one or more keywords in the search field.
	Case Sensitivity The title search is case-insensitive. Regardless of whether uppercase or lowercase letters are used, the same set of search results will be returned. Constraining Matches (The "And" Condition) Keywords separated by spaces act as combined constraints on a title. For example, a search string of "pride pre" is interpreted as a request to find all titles that contain both "pride" and "pre." In this case, the search results would include the title "Pride and Prejudice" but not "Pride of the Yankees." Note that the keywords do not need to be full words as in the case of "pre." Finding Multiple Titles At Once (The "Or" Condition) Keywords separated by a pipe '\|' act as disjoined constraints on a title. For example, a search string of "pride pre \| emma" is interpreted as a request to find all titles that contain both "pride" and "pre" or titles that contain "emma." In this case, the search results would contain the titles "Pride and Prejudice" and "Emma" plus several other titles that contain the the word "emma" such as "Emmanuelle." Invalid Characters A number of special characters are considered invalid. Please refrain from using these as part of the search string. These include: *\ _ ( + [ " . ? $ ^ % General Tips Leave out common words such as "a", "an", and "the"**. These words often cause too many titles to be returned.

Searching By Price
To find DVDs that are within a specific price range, choose either "Price greater than," "Price less than" or "Price range" as the search type and enter the appropriate dollar amount(s) into the search field.
	Price Greater Than Enter a dollar amount greater than or equal to $0.00 to see all DVD titles whose lowest price is currently greater than or equal to that amount. Price Less Than Enter a dollar amount greater than or equal to $0.00 to see all DVD titles whose lowest price is currently less than or equal to that amount. Price Range Enter a price range (two dollar amounts separated by a dash '-') to see all DVD titles whose lowest price currently falls between these two values, inclusively. The first value must be less than or equal to the second. (e.g., 7.99 - 15.99). To find DVDs at a specific price, enter that value as both the low and high dollar amounts. (e.g., 9.99 - 9.99) General Tips 1. All prices must be in US Dollars and greater than or equal to $0.00. 2. Only numbers and decimal points are considered valid price inputs. Entering any other characters as part of the amount may result in erroneous results.

Searching By Percent Off MSRP (MSRP = "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price")
To find DVDs whose lowest price is at least some specified % off of the MSRP, choose "% off MSRP" as the search type and enter a percentage into the search field. For example, to find DVDs whose lowest price is at least 60% off of the MSRP, enter 60 into the search field.

Limiting The Search To A Specific Store
All of the search methods described above are performed against all stores in our database by default. However, if you are only interested in searching at a specific store, use the select box to the right of the search field to indicate the store to search.

How Does My Shipping Destination Effect The Search Results?
The country of your shipping destination can effect search results. If the country is 'United States' or 'None,' all stores in our database are included in every search, (unless explicitly constrained). For all other countries, only stores that ship internationally are included in the search. For example, if you are looking for all DVDs whose lowest price is less than $10.00, a title whose lowest price meets that condition may still be excluded from your search results. This would happen if that price is only available at a store which does not ship outside the United States but your shipping destination is outside the U.S. In another example, if you are searching by title (e.g., "emma"), that title will show up in your search results regardless of your shipping destination. However, the "Lowest Price" field associated with that title may be affected if your shipping destination is outside the United States (because it only reflects the lowest price across all stores which ship internationally, not the lowest price across all stores in our database). Note that there are some stores that are considered "international shippers" even though they only ship to one or two other countries besides the United States.
